Visiting

What should you expect as a first-time visitor to Somerset Christian Church?

First, as you make your way into the building, someone will be waiting to greet you and hand you a bulletin. The bulletin will contain church news and events, a sermon outline, and also the order of worship.

If you have young kids, stop by the Sunday School registration table (just inside the entryway downstairs to the right-hand side). They will give you all the information you will need and will be able to answer any questions relating to our Sunday School.  Please head upstairs for a cup of coffee and an opportunity to meet people.  The information center is located by the entrance to the worship center, if you have any general questions about the church, please feel free to ask them.  The service will begin with the praise team leading the congregation in some songs and singing. There will be a few brief announcements, followed by people having the opportunity to  say hello to those around them, and then we will continue singing a few more songs.

At this point, we will have communion. Please feel free to take a cup and a piece of bread and then pass the trays to the person next to you. An offering will be taken, followed by the dismissing of  the children to Sunday school.  We will have a couple of more songs then  there will be a message which is geared to help people live out in a practical way the teaching of Scripture. Following the message, the congregation will be given a blessing and encouraged to live out what they have learned.

That’s the general order of worship, but we leave plenty of room for God to work in people’s lives. Please join us as we’d love to have you with us!
